Amid rumours of the Sinha family being unhappy with the wedding of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha came in defense of the family as well as his daughter and reacted to the rumours, denying it. And now, after his actress-daughter took to the platform to share photos from her intimate wedding ceremony, Shatrughan Sinha too posted videos and photos from the celebrations.

Readers would be aware that Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in a registered ceremony in Mumbai amid close friends and family members. However, the couple decided to follow a few traditional rituals. Sharing a couple of videos from the special day, Shatrughan Sinha took to the social media platform X, aka Twitter, to share the beautiful entry of the bride Sonakshi. The actress made an entrance with the song ‘Afreen Afreen’ in the background along with Saqib Saleem and others carrying the ‘phoolon ka chaadar’ (loosely translated as flower blanket) over her head.
Meanwhile, in another video shared by the actor turned politician, the proud father is seen doing ‘Kanyadaan’ (an important Hindu marriage ritual) along with a priest reciting mantras. Apart from this, he also shared a few moments from the reception bash and penned a note saying, “With an attitude of gratitude we would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us on our special day seems to be the 'wedding of the century' with your warmth, love, congratulatory messages for our darling daughter #SonakshiSinha with #ZaheerIqbal as they start a new chapter in their beautiful journey of their lives.”

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday, June 23, after dating each other for seven years. The actors, who have shared screen space in the film Double XL, also hosted a lavish reception bash later in the evening in the plush venue of Bastian in the city which was attended by several renowned celebs like Salman Khan, Kajol, Anil Kapoor, among many others.
