Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap got married at the age of 24, before Ayushmann had entered the film industry and while Tahira was just starting her professional journey. Although they had been in a relationship for several years, adjusting to life in Mumbai as newlyweds took some time. In a recent interview, Tahira revealed that after their move to the city, she ended up spending all her savings, as she was solely responsible for buying groceries for the entire first year. During this period, Ayushmann had begun working as a VJ, but he remained unaware that Tahira was covering all the household expenses and never offered to contribute financially.

In a conversation with Official People of India, reportedly recorded a few months ago, Tahira Kashyap opened up about moving to Mumbai with Ayushmann Khurrana after their 2008 marriage. She mentioned that she had been financially independent and had savings from years of working, even though a portion had gone toward their wedding expenses. “I had spent some money on my wedding but I had my own savings. But I didn’t have a job in Mumbai. We had just gotten married and I was still applying for jobs,” she said. Tahira also revealed that Ayushmann was unaware she was solely using her savings to buy groceries for the household.

Tahira recalled, “This boy did not understand how were we getting the food, like how were we buying all of these vegetables, fruits. My bank balance was depleting. I had never asked anyone for money, even my parents. I had always been financially independent but now everything went for a toss because it had been a year and my bank balance was zero.”

Tahira Kashyap remembered a moment when Ayushmann Khurrana asked her why she hadn’t brought any mangoes, which was the tipping point for her. “I was so upset because he hadn’t noticed that I hadn’t eaten mangoes for two days just so he could have them. When he asked, ‘What’s the problem?’ I broke down and started crying. I asked him, ‘How do you think we’ve been buying groceries?’ He responded, ‘Oh yeah.’ I told him, ‘My bank balance is zero. It’s been 7-8 months, I’m still looking for jobs, and we’ve been spending only my savings.’ That’s when he realized and asked, ‘Why didn’t you ask me for money?’ I replied, ‘Because I can’t. You’re supposed to be sharing the grocery expenses with me.’ By then, he had started his career as a VJ,” she shared.

In April, Tahira revealed that her cancer had returned seven years after she was first diagnosed. She has been regularly updating her followers about her health on social media.

The much-awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is all set to release in 2 days and the excitement is tremendous. Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama broke the viral story of the censor cuts in the Aamir Khan-starrer. Today, we bring to you the release strategy opted for by the makers and distributors of Sitaare Zameen Par.

An exhibition source told Bollywood Hungama, "The distributors have sent a list of requirements to all the theatres, now that the censor certificate has been obtained. As per the requirement, there should be no show of the film before 9:00 am. They have asked cinema halls to opt for popular weekend pricing for the film. Usually, big films go for blockbuster pricing, when the rates are sky-high. Aamir, however, has not allowed it, probably as it would have made it unaffordable for a large chunk of the moviegoers."

The source further said, "The popular ticket pricing is a bit higher than regular pricing. But for a big film to not go for higher rates is a significant step."

The source shared more details on the screen requirement, "If the single screen wants to play the film, the exhibitor will be required to have all shows of Sitaare Zameen Par. It can't exhibit any other film. Two-screen cinemas need to allot 8 shows. Multiplexes with 3, 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 11, 14, 16 and 19 shows a day respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 22 shows are a must while for 8-screen plexes, 25 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 28 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 31 shows."

The advance booking of Sitaare Zameen Par was opened yesterday as soon as the CBFC passed the film. As expected, the makers have gone wide with the release. A final screen count is expected to be known by tomorrow, June 19.

Akshay Kumar, often referred to as the ‘Khiladi of Bollywood,’ is famous for doing his own stunts. Akshay shared the surprising source of inspiration behind his action scenes, revealing, “Do you know where I draw all this inspiration from? All the stunts I’ve done? You won’t believe it, from Tom & Jerry. I love watching Tom & Jerry, I think it's the most violent show. It's very violent, even though it's apparently made for kids. If you actually see it, there’s so much action, it’s brutal. Each episode is 10 or 12 minutes long and packed with action. I’ve taken so much inspiration from it.”

He further stated, “I remember Tom coming down from a helicopter, hanging and picking up Jerry — I did that in Sabse Bada Khiladi. Then Tom hanging from a plane — I recreated that in Khiladi 420. There’s another scene where Tom puts a hammock under a helicopter and both he and Jerry sit down and have a glass of wine — I did that in Khatron Ke Khiladi. You can actually get a lot of action ideas from Tom & Jerry. It’s the best action film. I’ve ever seen. People watch it thinking it’s humorous, but it’s not. In one episode, Tom breaks the whole house with a bat. It’s so violent. Please understand — it’s a violent show you’re showing your kids!”

Akshay Kumar is set to make a special appearance as Lord Shiva in Kannappa, a film by Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu. The movie also includes cameo roles by Prabhas and Mohanlal and is slated for a theatrical release on June 27. In addition to this, Akshay is working on Welcome to the Jungle and Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla, which will also feature Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is currently busy with his upcoming project SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is shaping up to be a visually ambitious cinematic experience. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the team has completed two major filming schedules and is now working on a critical segment set in Varanasi. Instead of shooting on location, Rajamouli has opted to recreate the holy city at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City. The reason: the logistical challenges of filming in Varanasi, one of India’s most densely populated and spiritually active cities.

The massive set is estimated to have cost nearly Rs 50 crores. Significant portions of the film, including action scenes featuring Mahesh Babu, will be shot here. Rajamouli's hallmark use of green screen technology and VFX will once again be central to his vision. Some of the most reputed Hollywood VFX studios have been brought on board to deliver world-class visuals, with a large part of the film's budget reportedly allocated to the graphics department.

In addition to Hyderabad, schedules in Odisha have also been completed. As per a report by Filmfare, the production is now gearing up for its first international schedule in Kenya, which was initially planned for March but had to be pushed. The Kenya schedule, slated for July, will feature Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in sequences set against dense wilderness and a natural backdrop.

The film is also notable for marking Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ return to Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus. She was last seen in The Sky Is Pink (2019), and her comeback in a Rajamouli film is already generating strong interest among fans and industry insiders alike.

Hrithik Roshan, hailed as the Greek God of Indian cinema, has captivated the imagination of one and all with his hypnotic screen presence in the War 2 teaser, in which he again looked like a million bucks. Hrithik plays the role of the super spy Kabir in the blockbuster War franchise within the YRF Spy Universe that has only delivered historic hits!

His suave look and effortless style caused an internet meltdown as soon as the War 2 teaser was released by Yash Raj Films. The costume designer of War 2, Anaita Shroff Adajania, reveals the film will push Hrithik’s magnetic presence even further with the way his character has been styled in War 2.

Anaita says, “I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with Hrithik over the years, on Dhoom 2, Bang Bang, countless appearances and ads—and then came War. Each project brought something new, but with War, we made a conscious decision to shift gears. We moved away from the grunge aesthetic and instead created a cleaner, sleeker look for him. It still had an edge, somewhere between real and godlike. And yes, kind of like a superhero in plain clothes! His look was determined, yet casual.”

She adds, “For War 2, it felt essential to explore a deeper, darker mood in Kabir. This version of him is layered, not just emotionally, but visually too. Thinner fabrics, pieces that feel a little more lived-in, slightly unkempt even… and there’s more! But of course, Kabir is still Kabir — his sharpness always cuts through.”

Anaita further says, “We built on what worked in War 1: that transformative haircut, Hrithik’s magnetic presence, and then we just pushed it further. I think that combination—the looks, the attitude, the restraint—is what truly created this Kabir for War 2.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 pits NTR, regarded as the Man of the Masses, against Hrithik Roshan. Kiara Advani plays the female lead. War 2 is set to release on August 14th worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
